Take the Challenge

spacer

To support facilities in theirHealthier Hospitals Initiative
commitment, goal setting, and
tracking for reducing meat procurement, we have teamed up with the Healthier Hospitals Initiative (HHI) to create a Balanced Menus Challenge. HHI, a national sustainability agenda for the health care sector, supports enrolled hospitals and health systems in setting goals and tracking progress in several areas of sustainable operations.

By taking this free challenge, your facility will be joining a set of leading facilities that recognize the opportunity to improve the health of their customers (employees, patients, and visitors) and the health of the environment.

The Balanced Menus Challenge is a commitment to reduce meat procurement by at least 20% in hospitals. To participate, enroll your hospital or health system in the Healthier Hospitals Initiative and choose the Healthier Food Challenges, of which the Balanced Menus Challenge is one component.

Early Adopters of the Balanced Menus Challenge

Fifty-two hospitals became early adopters of Balanced Menus, and took an initial 12-month challenge to change their menus and purchasing practices. We applaud these early adopters.
