Procure Organic or Sustainable Certified Foods

According to the USDA-funded National Center for Appropriate Technology, growing research is showing that organic production systems are one of the most climate-friendly systems of food production. Climate benefits accrue from buying food raised under a less industrial model of agriculture. This translates into meat from animals raised on grass instead of grains, and produce grown using fewer fossil fuel-derived pesticides and fertilizers.
